I have been posting the possum on my main blog, Smallfox Photography, Wildlife Photography – Pleasure and Peril, and The Return of the Possum. You may not have seen them, but there is the story there of the saucy little bugger.
Anyway, in the early hours of New Year’s Day, he was back again, his fondness for almonds unabated.
Ladypuss, normally confident and able to take on anything, doesn’t know what to do with him. He must be the first possum in these parts in her lifetime. She just watched him through the glass but wasn’t prepared to go out with him still there.
He would have come in if we’d left the door open. He has no confidence issues, or boundaries, and would probably have ransacked the place looking for nibbles. Hence, we kept the door closed to, and I certainly didn’t want another repeat of him leaping on me with those powerful climbing claws.
Of course, all he wanted was food. So we fed him almonds, which he rather enjoys, through the gap. So brazen 😀
